Fanga’uta committees to discuss Stewardship and 2017 Work Plan

NUKU’ALOFA-January 25: 3.40pm (R2R MEDIA): The Fanga’uta Lagoon Catchment (FLC) Technical Working Group (TWG) and Project Steering Committee (PSC) will both meet on Thursday, January 26 to discuss plans of work and the management of the Fanga’uta Lagoon.

Kicking off the day will be the TWG meeting at the Department of Environment’s Conference Room here at Vuna Road in Nuku’alofa.

That meeting will bring together TWG members who represent the different Government Ministries, Non-Government Organisations and members of the Project Management Unit here at the Tonga Ridge To Reef (R2R) project office.

High on the agenda will be the review of the 2017 Work Plan and the 2017 Annual Budget allocation.

In the afternoon, members of the PSC will meet at the Tanoa Dateline International Hotel for their opening meeting of 2017.

The priority on the agenda for that meeting will be the Fanga’uta Lagoon Stewardship Plan.

Members of the PSC include Chief Executive Officers of different government ministries.
