Regional media and communication training opens in Nadi

NADI, Fiji-May 8: 9.30am (R2R/Environment News): Tonga is being represented at the ‘Resilient and Sustainable Development Media and Communications Training’ here at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi, which opened this morning.

Tonga Ridge To Reef National and Information Officer Iliesa Tora is attending the first-ever regional media and communication training that is being jointly organised and funded by the United Nations Development Programme, Forum Secretariat, Pacific Community and the European Union.

Fiji’s Minister for Fisheries and Oceans’ Champion Hon Semi Koroilavesau opened the training this morning with the challenge to media and communication officers to ensure they are able to tell the stories of people and communities in their own environments and countries.

The meeting will run for a week, with regional media and communication officers and will end on Friday, May 12.
