Nuku’alofa – January 6, 2020: 10.30am (Enviro News): The Department of Environment office here in Nuku’alofa opened for work this morning.
This marked the opening of the 2020 work season.
Government offices around the Kingdom also resumed work this morning, with Environment and the Ministry of MEIDECC also opening all its offices around the country.
The Environment office in Tonga includes the Environment Impact Assessment Unit, the Waste Management Unit, the Biodiversity Unit (Oceans and Islands Ecosystems) and the Information/Communication Unit.
Members of the public are advised that the office will be opened from 8.30am to 4pm this week as Tonga goes through its ‘Uike Lotu’.
